I can't say that Torarenbou has the best Sashimi or Sushi ever. But I can't say that they don't either. Huh?
I've managed to make it here about four times. Always in time for Happy Hour which runs from 4pm until 6pm. Because of that, I've never really had to go off from the Happy Hour Menu.
Thursday afternoon, I had:
3 Raw Oysters - 5 - never had a bad oyster here. small little flavor bombs!
6 Tempura Prawns - 5 - Perfectly fried without being greasy. More restaurants should learn to fry their foods using clean oil at the proper temperature! These were from the regular menu. I just ordered the Prawns without any Veg.
5 Pork Gyoza - 3 - Probably won't order these again. They're fine but nothing exciting.
4 Veggie Croquette - 2 - I should have read the discription more carefully. Potato and Carrot. Texturally different from what I've had other restaurants and just a dot of carrot.
6 California Roll - 5 - I could eat these every day.
I noticed that the Spicy Tuna Roll has been removed from the Happy Hour Menu. -

Disappointing tonight. The service was super slow, they brought our meals out at different times and took forever with the check. They were understaffed for the amount of customers for sure!
Food was good but it didnt help we had to wait so long for it. -

We love coming here for our sushi cravings. They have the best prices in town during happy hour which lasts until 6:00 pm. Special occasions always are celebrated here. Even though the service can be a little slow we savor our time and enjoy our food as it is brought out to us. I would also recommend spicy sukiyaki soup for anyone who enjoys a little spice in their life.

We went here for my dad's birthday recently and had a blast. We had a party of five and had no problem getting a reservation on a Thursday night.
We arrived early enough to order a few things from the happy hour menu (which is available seven days a week, by the way). Our favorite thing off the menu was the jalapeño poppers for $6. Jalapeños stuffed with salmon and slathered in yummy spicy mayo. They weren't very spicy, making them a great appetizer to share with a group. We also shared several rolls as a table. We ordered a white dragon, a crunchy Philadelphia roll and a couple of others. The white dragon was my favorite, but the crunchy roll was also delicious. The tempura was light and delectable. Not the usual over-fried breading you find at other places. The barbecue pork and rice bowl is also very tasty.
Service was friendly and efficient. This is a great place for quality sushi at very reasonable prices.
